Chris Amon in the Ferrari 612, named for its 6.2 litre V-12, the largest engine ever used by the Prancing Horse, was the strongest opposition to the McLarens - when its engine didn’t break! Denny Hulme in the number 5 McLaren passed the Ferrari for a 1-2 finish.
