"NZ5410" Corsair F4U-1D RNZAF Corsair NZ5410 of No. 3 Servicing Unit Squadron touching down at Jacquinot Bay in 1945. New Zealand was the largest user of the Corsair after the United States and Britain during WW2. A total of 424 were delivered and it became the predominant RNZAF fighter and ground attack aircraft in the South-west Pacific theatre, participating in the Soloman Islands Campaign to neutralize the major Japanese naval base at Rabaul, New Britain.
